I got a prescription for them about 6 months ago. I tried all different brands. I have dark green eyes and wanted blue. Looks like I'm looking through saran wrap. The eye doctor told me I was probably picking up some of the blue rim through my vision and that It would go away with time. But after a week of wearing them and not being able to see right I quit. Not just a week, it was a week for each brand I tried.
Is this normal, is there a lense that will not do this? I wanted a blue that was really eye catching. The ones that they gave me were not. The whole point of colored contacts is so your eyes will be noticed right?

It all depends on the person. I once tried colored contacts but I gave them up after about 6 months because I always saw the ring of color and it really affected my night vision. I have friends who never once had a problem with colored contacts. You could just be like me and don't have the eyes for them.

It could be an issue with the size or curve of the lens.
Poorly fitted lenses tend to "float" on the surface of your eye when you blink, causing that "colored blur" effect.
I had a friend who had relatively "small" eyes and she couldn't wear most of the standard diameter lenses (14.0 +) and had a hard time finding any lenses with a small enough diameter on a disposable platform.
If you have an abnormal base curve or diameter in your eye it may cause you to have issues finding a lens with a good fit.
If you are determined to have a cosmetic lens that fits, you may want to ask your eye doctor about annual replacement lenses (non-disposable) which may be available in a wider variety of sizes. The problem is that many manufacturers restrict replacements / returns on these types of lenses due to their higher cost and relatively small production quantities.
Good luck.

i've had the same experience...i had to wear them for a while before my eyes adjusted to them...you actually are seeing the color as they move on your eyes when you blink...

That's normal. You will get used to wearing them.
