I know that using hairspray on an ink stain in clothing works, but I'm not sure about wood. Be careful not to "rub" the stain, which will only spread it. Use a cloth (like an old t-shirt ripped up into pieces) and then blot the area with water, but every time you blot, use a clean section of the cloth.

Also, if you do use the hairspray method, test a small area first. You can buy pens at any hardware stores that are permanent markers, in a sense, for wood. They will match the wood color and fill in any spaces, which would work as well to mask damage.

As Homer would say, "DOH!!"

You might try some bleach or something. The laquer or finish over the top of the wood might save you, but if the ink got absorbed into the wood you're pretty much out of luck unless you sand and refinish.

Use hairspray to clean the ink... then wipe the sticky hairspray residue off and you will never know a pen leaked there...

aerosol hair spray , Spray on, watch it break the ink spot down, wash with warm soapy water.

also works on fabric, always test on small scale before using front and center.
