Talk to the apartment management and ask what them what it would take to break your lease. I have had friends that have done this and they usually charge half of the remaining rent. It all depends on how in demand apartments are in the area and if they are going to rent it quickly.

Find out if there is a waiting list to get into the apartments. They may willing to let you get out of it for less.

If you just leave and not pay, the avoiding of the sitiuation will cause eviction notices and more than likely court cases so they can legally attempt to get the money owed them. And it will effect your credit rating and your ability to rent in the future. How many people will want to rent to you if you did not pay your rent?

You may have to pass on the great deal for now. Can you pay the two rents? Is it really worth the legal hassle?

If you just leave, at the very least you will owe rent for this month, and as long as it takes them to find someone to replace you. At most, they will take you to court and make you pay the entire lease that you signed. Your security deposit does not cover rent, but is forfieted if you break your lease. So you will lose it, AND still owe rent.

Maybe instead of screwing the people who are making a real living, you should stop trying to live off the government and make your own living.

You risk losing the Section 8 for screwing your past landlord.

They will charge you for the rent owed up until they find a new tenant. They very well can take you to court, if your damages exceed your deposit.

As far as I know a lease is a legal binding. Can you sub lease to someone? Yes you can go to court as far as I know. But sometimes your landlord will let you sub lease to someone, this means letting someone else take over your lease for teh remainder of it and then you are not held responsible.
