I think that the war has evolved into something so different than when it originated, that the majority of Americans could probably care less what happens to Saddam, especially since everyone knew that he was guilty - I mean really, how could the government NOT charge him? To do so would cause even more anarchy then there already is.
My guess is that America is pissed of at enough things run by the government that this verdict will have no effect whatsoever.

While neither President Bush or any other member of his administration went to war for the purpose of getting Saddam executed, the Iraqi Court's verdict does show that there is a gradual return to order in the middle east, and that some sort of democracy will begin to flourish there.
China isn't there yet, nor is the remains of the USSR, but at least there don't appear to be any more mass killings of their own citizens. Some day, hopefully all these countries will have the same freedoms that we enjoy in America.

i think politics is a very risky business and everything effects it in some way...!! i think it would but not in major way just a tiny effect might be seen on how people vote :)..
