Instinct deep rooted in human psyche ,called ego looks forward to respond to pleasing stimulous. False praise stirrs cheering emotions A sense of wellbeing is produced while cognitive power is reduced to a lesser emotion for a while. As a result examining the genuineness of veiled spoken statement or suggestion is forgotten.

Perhaps those who fall prey to false praise do so because they are seeking praise. A confident and self-aware person understands their own strengths and weaknesses and knows when someone is blowin smoke up their a**. False and genuine praise are tools to boost anothers confidence or to improve one's postion ex. kissing up to the boss.

A mature mind is able to distinguish false praise from genuine appeciation.. It is then discounted. A simple soul may be misled by bogus flattery for a short time, but the truth is out soon.

People fall victim to false praise because of personal pride. they want their egos stroked so bad that they refuse to discern whether the praise they are receiving is genuine or phony.

don't accept praise from anybody. The same ones who praise you one day, are the ones who will take a cheap shot at you the next

because false praise, to you, can be the best thing you received while the person who gave it probably thought you were wasting their time so they said something, thinking it wouldn't matter to you. many people have gotten a habit of that and personally i want people to be critical.....

praise leads to motivation ,motivation leads to accomplishments..if you feel as though people are only lying by praising you...it usually means they're trying to get something from you...
