They take away points at all levels sweetie. If some idiot decides that they don't like you answer and removes it then you loose 12 points. If you get reported they take aways points. It's not very nice rather like life is sometimes. You also have points taken away when you ask questions. If someone has given you a rude answer why not delete it?

You lost 177 points this week - that is true. You didn't ask enough questions to account for it.
Maybe it is an error or a bug in Yahoo. Email customer service and ask. That is a bad situation not only for you but potentially for the rest of us if the problems spreads.

They also take away 5 points for a violation notice, cos i lost 10 points for telling the questioner he should be doing his own homework and to look up answer in his ref. books.

Every time you ask a question, you get deducted 5 points. Once you select a best answer, you get 3 back so you only lose 2 total.

No they don't take them, but maybe you Asked a question and that is deducted from your points. Check the link "My Q&A" on the right of the Search for questions and you will know all the statistics.
