Never be ashamed of your name. It helps define who you are. If I'm not mistaken, your name is a two part derivative, partly meaning "mother of Christ" (Mary), and "Oath to God" (Beth). If you are religious this would be a very proud name to have, if not at least there is a spiritual tone to it.
Remember, your name likely came from a great source of inspiration to your mother. I highly doubt she picked your name out of a hat. Ask her.

Mary Beth, ha ha ha ha. No I'm just teasing, my girlfriend's name is Beth. Mary is a noble name too. I think people just don't like their name if it is common. it just seems so plain compared to all the names out there. Mine is Timothy. Yup. My mom loved it and now I'm Tiny Tim or Tim Ber, as in a tree falling, it just seems so blah, plain. Well, if we were in the Walton's I'd say, "Goodnight Mary Beth," and you'd say,"Goodnight Timothy Chris." Then everything would be right in the world.

I love my name. My family did an excellent job. I'm Rachel Nicole. It's not too trendy or anything.
I like Mary Beth. It's a great classic name. If I ever have a daughter, I would consider naming her that. Be proud of your name, it's special because it belongs to you!

My name is Wendy Jean ~
Wendy is from Casper the friendly ghost, you know the little witch Wendy that was on there. My mom was in the hospital getting ready to have me. Her and my Dad were watching Casper and they liked the name Wendy. My middle name Jean comes from my Granny. So I love my name. Its me! Plus I used the one site posted on here and my first name means "friend" and my middle name means "God is Gracious" So then I was like Wow, I love it even more.
PS I like the name Mary Beth. (Mary was Jesus Mom you know)

Mine was and is rather unique for my area. There are very few named Shawna in my area. When I was little I thought it stuck out because there were so many hispanic names around me. But, now, I've learned that I'm rather unique and my unique name makes me feel important.

Leilani, meaning Heavenly Flower, is my name. I learned to appreciate my name as I became older. No one I knew had my name. but then here comes my middle name.....Jean....my name put together sounds like a Hawaiian Hick from the deep country.... "Leilani Jean.....Time for dinner...We're havin' country fried chicken and mashed taters!"
