You have female singers like Minnie Ripperton and Mariah carey, who can hit that high note. Well, the high note that Jesse Powell hits, is the male version high note. Not too many men can hit that note.

Powell was pretty hip. His remake of The Dramatics "Gloria" live was absolutely incredible. One of the best live recordings I ever heard!

Yeah, I loved him. "You" was a hot song. But I don't think he would make it now. He would have to change his style. Main stream can only accept a few high pitched Black men - Prince and Maxwell.
