I'm the only Black American on my job. I'm female. I get so much respect from my co-workers until it's not even funny! We all get along. There is no racial tension at all. No jokes about race. I just happen to be working with some of the most maturest professionals that I have ever had the opportunity of working with in my entire life. They consider me a DIVA! Plus Working with all men is a plus! I prefer working with just men because women can be so catty. They do the click thing and I'm not about it. I'm not saying that I can't get along with women. It's just that if you're the only woman on the job, and you've got a great bunch of men around you. You pretty much can't beat it!

I'm a black woman and no I don't get discriminated against at work. But I do remember the first time I had a job interview and the President of the company started mentioning about some black guy who used to work for him & the term he used was that this black guy "screwed" him over. I guess the President also assume that I would also "screw" him over, but I proved him WRONG. I worked hard and was no longer considered a black person taking advantage of the affirmative action program.

actually yes I am white and other ethnics at work are allowed to stand around and talk amongst themselves while I continue to work. IF I stop to talk to a co worker the supervisor yells at me and when I point out the other ethnics talking he says that they are different. Really!!! WHY?

No, but then, I'm self-employed. Also, you're not supposed to post questions twice.
