Yes, I wear sunglasses. My eyes are very sensitive to the sun.

I think it's rude to wear them at lunch unnecessarily, and especially so if they are mirrored shades ... it's most annoying trying to talk to someone when you can't see their eyes! However I live in a very hot, very sunny climate in Australia, where al fresco dining is part of our lifestyle, and people do wear sunglasses to lunch because you really need to here. The glasses we would wear to lunch would never be mirrored or overly dark though, they would be a lighter tint. The situation you are referring to seems to be one in which sunglasses were completely unnecessary (inside a restaurant they should never be worn!!).

I wear sunglasses myself as I'd look awfully stupid wearing the shades off my windows plus the fact that you can't see through them.

i live in texas where it is perpetually sunny almost every day. but i've started wearing them inside too and at night (when i'm not driving). but for the most part if i am around any harsh light i'll take my Oakleys out of my pocket and put them on.
