We are moving into an Indo-Sinocentric world, but I think it will take about eighty years for India to overtake the US and Switzerland in standard of living as measured by per capita GDP at purchasing power parity. Of course India will be #1 (or #2 after China) in absolute GDP much sooner (maybe 30-40 years from now) because of its larger population, and sooner still if it reunites with Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Quality of life is another story. India needs to practice its ancient wisdom (Vedas) if life is to be about more than money.

I think India has more sense than to dictate the world, however powerful its economy becomes.
