I was offered a job in Qatar since they lacked employees for the Asian Games. The salary is quite decent and I will be working in the hospitality industry.

There are a lot a of negative speculations regarding Muslim countries since it is basically a patriarchal society.

Can anyone advise me regarding cultural do's and don't s, security, working environment and other information that may help me make up my mind?

By the way, I am Asian.

As a woman, working in a country that follows sharia law is bad enough (if they'll let you). As a non-muslim, it's suicidal. I watched a film this weekend of a mullah instructing his "faithful" that, according to the Koran, it is permissible to capture any non-muslim, take him to the market, and sell him as a slave or cow. If he wont go, (and these were the mullah's exact words), "Kill him. It's okay."

Some things just aren't worth the money.
