Yes. Humility is not lack of self-respect. Being humble is to not be stuck up and consider yourself better than others just because you have more money, better looks, better car etc. Having high self-esteem is knowing that you are no less than anyone else and deserve to be treated with respect. Essentially someone with high-self esteem expects to be treated like everyone else and someone who is humble treats others like everyone else.

Yes, the two are unrelated. People confuse self esteem with being a braggard or being overconfident and self-centered. Self esteem is about repecting yourself and having confidence in your value as a person. Being humble is about recognizing that others also have great talents, skills, and abilities.

Yes. Humility is gratitude. I have self esteem because I am a good salesperson. I can be humble if I bear in mind that my people skills are a gift from God and that a lot of people have helped me along the way.

Having self esteem does not mean you think you are better than everyone else. Self esteem means you have confidence within yourself but are non judgemental at the same time.

They are not opposites of each other. You can be quite confident in yourself (self esteem) whilst being humble (thanking people for compliments etc)

Humility is the result of good self esteem. If you believe in yourself and at the same time know your limitations, your feet is always on the ground.

WoW. What a killer question.

I get the idea that you are of the understanding that these two are the opposites of each other! ....like Love & Hate.

Error. Error.

The opposite to Love is 'Indifference.'

So, what is the opposite to Self Esteem then?

That will be your homework for this week.

Report back a week from today please.
