How do I package a PowerPoint presentation as a download for my weboage? I do not want to publish it AS a webpage, but as a download that would start once it is downloaded.

Basically I want people to see the Powerpoint play as a Powerpoint presentation from my website.

Just upload your .ppt or .pps files to your web directory like what you do with normal web pages.

Ex.

You can create a folder in your web directory named "downloads". You can put myfile.ppt on it.

Then you play the ppt file by typing this in your browser address bar:
http://www. mywebsite.com/downloads/ myfile.ppt
(*remove spaces and replace mywebsite.com with the name of your website)

You will then be prompted to download the file or just play it online. :-)

my only thought is to have it as a link on your webpage for people to download. if it tried to down load as soon as someone gets to your page they will thin you are trying to give them a virus or something. also, the file will not open immediately once it is download unless the people click the open option instead of save. if you want a slide presentation fro your webpage, there are programs out there that will set it up for you in flash and you don't need macromedia to do it. might want to check one of those out

use winrar to compress it, then create a link to it after you have uploaded it and get the viewers to use save target as to download it.
