I'm sorry but I must disagree with some of your replies! I'm a smoker and I would not want to see an employee smoking on the job! There is a time and a place for breaks! If I can go five hours without one I don't see why everyone else can't! Smoking is a dirty habit that does not need to be shared with those who choose not to do it! I smoke outside but not in public unless I'm working and only in designated areas! I don't even smoke in my home, I smoke outside in my back yard.
Now, I realize there are those jobs that have little or no break time but this is a matter to be taken up with your supervisor! You have the right to smoke and have some kind of break weather that be for your cigg's or lunch! Either way, you should have that break! Smokers are having their rights to kill themselves taken away because they don't care about where they do it! Others either don't like the smell or have allergies to it! Be respectful of others! My husband does not smoke and as such I am aware of where I am when I do light up! I don't want him coughing and choking. Also, when I first began my job there were no breaks for employees unless you were working atleast eight hours or longer! However with a bit of coaxing and a reminder that people are not paid for their half an hour break, my suppervisor began giving them! There are ways to do it, if people would just stop and think!
I am only one smoker so I can't speak for others! But, like I said, if I can go five hours without my cigg's everyone can! But, let me tell you, I can't wait to light up by the time it gets here! lol

Hope this helped!

I don't beleive that, in this day and age, anyone should be allowed to smoke whilst on duty. I have to come to work 30 minutes early, and work through lunch, so I can take cigarette breaks during the day. That's only fair as the non-smokers don't take those breaks.

Yes if they want to, it just doesn't look very nice and its not a good representation of the company they work for either,
