I will be going to school in a couple of months for nursing...however, I would like to start working at an Assisted Living Manor or a Nursing Home now...Can I do that with no experience in this field? I know I would only be doing basic things like laundry and giving meals and so on...and that would be great until I finish school. I just want to have some sort of experience for when I am done with my schooling...
Can someone please tell me...how would I even start a job like this? I look in the paper everyday and there is never an ad that says they are hiring...Please point me in the right direction! Thank You so much!!

turnover is so high at those places they dont bother to advertise. Look them up in the phone book and call or go over to apply.

Assisted Living is basically a Nursing Home. The only difference is that the residents are capable of caring for themselves. There are nurses available and doctors make regular visits. Most have a dining hall that serve two meals a day. Most residents have a small efficiency apartment like room.
