Why is that American Superheroes always wear a pair of underwear over their tights?

Growing up in Sri lanka not having any contacts with any Americans to really ask, I came up with the Idea that it was really an extra pair of underwear, just in case if they have an accident (like wet their pants or sh!t them selves) while undertaking any of those heroic and daring tasks of saving the world
Like in Iraq today
Is this true?

Because they're all gay. Some of them are pedophiles as the sidekick is forced to dress the same and clearly underage.

If you were born in America definitely you will speak English with an American accent. Well, depending really on which part of America you were born and raised because accents vary with each state. Filipinos who work in call centers are required to speak English with an American accent because that is how the company would like their agents to sound. And most US customers cannot tell whether they are talking to a Filipino or a real American because of this. I should know, my son used to work in a call center and US clients cannot distinguish or determine the difference. Anyway, we adopted the American English language considering we were colonized by them for years.

Ha! I never thought of it like that. I always thought it was weird that superheroes wore tights, though. I have no idea why they're drawn that way and I'm pretty certain it's not meant to be an alternate pair of undies, but I like your interpretation nonetheless.

Most girls will be able to tell you that tights and pantyhose don't always stay where they are supposed to. Besides being another element of the costume, I'm sure they wore them to keep their tights up. That's what my mom did to me when I was little. I hope that helps.

because most American supeheroes you know of (Batman, Superman, etc) came out at a time when briefs were popular and cool.
If you look at recently created superheroes, they don't wear "underwear over tights", because in American culture, briefs have lost their appeal.

those super heros were drawn and thought of in the 1930's, that style was not "uncool" back then, it displayed them as physically overfit and powerful, why don't you do some research before ragging on them?

It's not exactly underwear. They are called tights. It is to show off their body.
