I have just had a new kitchen fitted with hi-gloss worktop and though it looks lovely it is a pain to clean. I can never seem to get rid of the water marks... help!!!

I have high gloss worktops - they look gorgeous when just cleaned but really are a pain in the butt. I use glass cleaner with either a microfibre cloth or kitchen towel.

Make sure that after you have cleaned it you dry and buff it thoroughly. You could even use polish if you are not going to prepare food directly on it.
A good cleaner for high-gloss finishes is an Anti-bacterial spray ~ don't use any harsh or abrasive cleaners.

use a clean damp cloth and wipe with gentle hand

never use abrasive cleaners / detergent / bleach for cleaning worktops

always use a damp cloth - add a bit of fairy liquid if you like but nothing else - you know those yellow ones - you get 3 or 4 for a pound in pound shop

tescos do j-cloths - 10 for about 37 p - they work good too but not as good as the yellow cloths

Get a micro-fibre cloth. After cleaning the surface with whichever cleaner you like, rub it over with a dry cloth, then polish it with the micro-fibre one. It's a pain, but it's the only way you get all the streaks off.

Glass-cleaner or white vinegar and a clean tea-towel. It was on how clean is your house last week I tried it and it works.
