startware is a name of a form of spyware, what has happened is you have had a browser hijack
but dont worry these are not too hard to fix, first you have to download and install 2 anti-spy programs that will clean up your p.c
first go to http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html,and download spybot, this is a free anti-spy program and will stop any future attacks aswell
then go to http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10045910.html?part=dl-ad-aware&subj=dl&tag=top5,and download adaware personal, this will sort out any spyware spybot fails to find
once you have installed these programs, before you start scanning go to add/remove programs and look for any unusual programs that may have installed themselves on your p.c,you should be looking for anything with starware in the name,or anything that you havent installed or that you dont recognize,if you find any ,remove them
then you need to run the programs, remembering to update them before you start, once finished in spybot, fix any selected problems and in adaware, delete any problems found
then you need to go to control panel>internet options>and reset your homepage to your desired browser(yahoo, google, ect)
then when you use internet explorer your homepage will have returned to your normal browser
any problems let me know
good luck
