Joking around is fine, but when you are pushing it to limits she doesnt' want the joke to go, or in public, then that's inappropriate. If she says stop, then stop immediately. Do not EVER joke around about her looks, hair, clothes, shoes, teeth, weight, age, etc. especially when others are around. And don't ever point at another woman and say you find her attractive or ask your wife to change something that another woman has (hair, makeup, etc.).
But if you can't tell your wife thinks your joking around is inappropriate, then it's time to get back in-tune with her so you'll know without having to ask strangers.

I think it's innopropriate when you start joking around about certain parts of her body and her weight... or anything she's insecure about.

anytime she gives you reason to think she isnt in a mood for jokes,,most of the time it is clear.
