I am Lucky and Live very near to a shop that sells them. Use yellow pages (if u r in UK), for shops that sell sewing machines and accessories. I live just outside London. Where are u???

As for why it did what it did I am not sure. The fix is easy. There are two options that could solve your problem... 1st is a product called the "Walldriller". It is a drywall anchor that is made by COBRA. It screws into the wall and then you attach your item to it. They are very secure and quite strong. The manufacturer says it will hold 50 pounds per screw-in.... The 2nd option is to use molly bolts or toggle bolts. These go thru the wallboard and then expand behind the wall giving a secure hold almost forever. All of there products should be available at you local hardware store or home center at a reasonable cost. GOOD LUCK!!!

You can buy invisible sewing thread at haberdashery shops They also sell beeswax to run it through so it doesn't tangle so easily.
