Probably becuase their tastes buds have been defiled by all the junk food they are given at home.
Children need to have their palates educated in the same way as their minds. If they live on a diet of chips, burgers and other unhealthy fat soaked foods at home is it any wonder that they do not know how to appreciate the more diverse fruit and veg.

Because children are given too much choice in many aspects of life where really they aren't informed or mature enough to be able to make good choices. They are children and need to be taught how to eat properly by parents and the education system working together.
Those silly women who were passing junk food over the school fence recently are one of the prime examples of how people 'defend the rights' of others without actually thinking about what the real issue.
I loved school dinners, (except tapioca) and still frequently enjoy the ones served at work in a Primary School. Here the children's attitudes to food range from sensible and informed to frightening and leading to the road of diabetes, obesity and in some cases mobility problems.

It is my genuine opinion that there are no more children who hate school dinners now than when I was a school some 20 years ago. Kids have always moaned about school dinners but because we're living in a namby pamby, tree hugging society where parents are afraid to be parents for fear of reprisal we have a whole generation of kids who think that the processed twoddle that takes 20 mins in the oven,(or worse 8 in the microwave), is not only good for them but a God-given right and unbelievably some ignoramus parents are prepared to help them shout from the tabloids to get it!

Personally as a high schooler, I remember I used to hate elementary and middle school meals. They were always lukewarm and greasy, especially the vegetables. They were always soggy and a uniform greenish-gray color. Who would actually like that? The food at schools are all pre-packaged half cooked things that the people just heat up. I usually love to eat veggies but those formless globs of green stuff are just plain disgusting.

Many common natural remedies are claimed to have blood sugar lowering properties that make them useful for people with or at high risk of diabetes. Learn here https://tr.im/m1P3q

A number of clinical studies have been carried out in recent years that show potential links between herbal therapies and improved blood glucose control, which has led to an increase in people with diabetes using these more 'natural' ingredients to help manage their condition.

Children hate school meals because they are allowed to. They are brought up to be fussy little buggers who can have what they want to eat. When I was brought up I was told to eat what was on the plate in front of me. No option. I was made to eat everything. And thats what kids should be brought up like now. To try everything. Not just turn up their nose at it but to aprreciate food on the table. Its the parents fault.

I think in high school they offer better choices. When you go through grade school the food is horrible, tasteless, and not as appetizing as junk food meals. Mystery meatloaf, slimy vegetables, or shiny peas. I think over the time they improved the look a little.

Because they are spoilt brats! The parents let them eat what they want. I blame the parents. We live in a wealthy society where food is plenty so people are fussy.
I LOVED school dinners when I was going to school (15 years ago). Not long ago, I went back to my town for a visit only to meet one of the school dinner ladies who now was working in the local supermarket. My God, she was screaming to the whole supermarket how much she used to love me because I'd always go back for seconds in the school canteen and that it was a pleaseure to feed me. Needless to say, the whole supermarket was looking at me, smiling and I was sooo embarrassed.

Kids have ALWAYS hated school meals. It's an 'in' thing to do. Also, how would you like to eat that cafeteria food every day?
