My guy is doing his engineering and is in the field which is not of his choice. Only about 3 more semesters are left before he graduates and everything. The problem is that all of asudden he has started lazing around alot....no its k at times, but that laziness is payed by not attending classes. Which puts a bad impression your teachers. And when I ask him the reason behind it or tell him that what he is doing is not correct, he retorts back saying that i should acting like his mother, and then sulks on. Is there a way or ways he can be motivated eough without me getting him to sulk?? Please help. Thank you.

Talk to his parents, but ask them not to tell him that you've spoken to them. Also his best friends may be a lot more effective in talking to him that you or his parents. Try them too.

You said he is in the field not of his choice, that is one reason to keep a person unmotivated. When he gets mad at you for calling him on his laziness, it's because deep down you are right, but he's using the "not of his choice" excuse and you see it. If he flunks out, that is on him...don't keep reminding him to do his homework,he's an adult. When all is said and done, he will have no one to blame but himself.

He's not going to stick with this "field which is not of his choice." Help him figure out his next moves.
