I have the kit but no instructions. The bracket that holds the lamps to the bumper and grill are quite difficult to work out

Lots of the classic minis had a light bar that you drilled into the bumper then mounted your lights to that!

The fitting is not easy as there is nothing solid to mount to and you really need to take the grill out for maintenance, if it has a distributor.
I would suggest you bin the kit and fit a bonnet top 4 lamp pod, this lets you use the lights legally other than in fog as their centre lines will be more than 24" above ground level, and if you strap the bonnet down with leather straps they should not wobble too much, otherwise just follow the directions but it will always be a bodge and they will wobble and be a general nuisance.

You will need to drill the bumber or get a special clamp for behind the grille.

The electrics for their operation will be more complicated I would have thought.

put the bracket where you are wanting it...(it probably has mounting holes?)....then mark your bumper where the new one is going to fit...i would measure to make sure your eyeball has actually centered it. drill or weld the new bracket to your bumper,or wherever its mounting to.
