it's called head tone.
i don't know exactly how it's done but when you shout, instead of letting the voice all out, you kinda like squeeze or tighten your throat maybe or some other part in your head...

Mariah's pitch and tone is far superior to ours. I think it is a form of screaming but she can control her pitch and tone so well that although it is actually singing, she is merely screaming in tune. Fantastic!

I read in the peoples magazine that she doesn't reach the very high notes. It is computer rized. One of my friends went to see her in concert and said that not once did she do those hig pitched sounds.

lower back interior the day it replaced into magnificent yet now it in basic terms would not sound good, she lines now and tries to make her music so present day that now while she does intense notes in songs it sounds strained and unusual, yet she is a legend soo.... :P

She's got very good control of her diaphragm, and can squeak notes that only dogs can hear!
