It may be possible, though the circumstances required are somewhat difficult to create. For instance in Australia there is a country within it called the Hutt River Province run by Prince Leonard and the history of how and why he created this state within Australia can be found here (http://www.huttriver.net/HRHistory.htm).

As said unusual circumstances allowed this, within the UK without any unusual circumstance it would be hard but micronations (small newly formed nations, some without geographical location, not usually recognised by the UN) are formed and run even within the UK (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Micronation) though mostly within UK law though there are examples of some outside the law, Sealand for instance (http://www.answers.com/topic/sealand).

Best thing to do is first understand the law with regards to it, then a good search of old documents, land registers and of old title documents to find places, entitlements etc which may lead to what you want. There are even jobs offered for local Kings within the UK (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2006/06/05/island_monarch/)

Unfortunately all of the land in the world is ruled by a country - with the exception of Anactica which is jointly owned - so getting them to cede soveriegnty to you could be tricky. It would be possible but it would take a lot of cash and bargaining - no governement galdly gives up land unless it gets something from the deal.

You could buy a British island and form your own community but you would still have to pay taxes to the governement and all that other stuff. The few exceptions like parts of the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man that do not fall completely under UK governement is because of centuries old laws passed by the then reigning moarchs. These have not been repealed because of to suits the governements to have tax havens that encourage inward investment to these areas and for them to put their ill gotten gains from being in power.

Just buy a boat and run your country from it, then secretly get all the people to like your country by making lots of promises to them, make friends with the queen, then take over government.

Oh sorry minus the boat thats how democracy works already isnt it. Maybe u could make a few promises and keep them that would make you more powerfull than any current world leader.

No wars or raping the third world would be nice too.

No you don't get to just secede and form your own country - I don't care how much money you have. The government is still going to want some of it back through property taxes. Plus, British law will still apply on any British land you buy.

Sorry but the time for that sort of thing is long past. If you disagree with those in power now and get others to agree with you, you will either have a fatal "accident" or just disappear.
