It depends on what you get it for. I like to keep mine covered up, just for my husband. I'm not one to go strolling around with my tummy hanging out. But, I am really glad I got it done. It's just a little surprise that you'll always have for your significant other. It hurt just as much as it does when you get your ears pierced. Not too much. The clamp hurt the worst. The bad thing about it is if you have a dangly ring in it, it can get caught on something. That hurts!

Clean it everyday with salt water and that cream stuff they give you.
Just beware though, if you plan on getting pregnant, the area between your belly button and the hole which the jewel goes through may split. If someone had told me about this when I got mine pierced at the age of 12, I would never have gone through with it!

I got mine done 8 years ago, only hurt for a few seconds, I didnt feel it after a couple of weeks, I still forget its there today. I did get a little infection in it a week after i got it which hot water and salt cured, I just dabed it on it with cotton wool. My advise is get it done if you want it, I have no regrets what so ever.

I've had mine pierced 3 times.Mine seem to only stay in for about a year at a time.(I'm a major stomach sleeper).Try not to sleep on your tummy,keep it VERY clean.It hurts while they're putting it in,but the o=pain is bearable.Just follow the instructions they give to you.Good Luck..

it hurts a little. you can't take it out for at least a month so it can heal. be very careful with it at the beginig.

yes it hurts. don't get it done. no point. just looks hurts and gets caught on things.
