Become involved. Do something for others. Volunteer. Help a child learn to read. Be a camp counselor for underprivileged children. Learn a new skill. Play Santa for a child. Bring a puppy to a rest home and watch the elderly smile for a while. Serve Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless with a church group. The opportunities abound.
The best things in life aren't things. It's those 'warm and fuzzies' you get by being there for others.

some pointers
happiness is a feeling, it sways high and low
Joy is much better as it remains in the background even through the hard times, Joy is hope, a view that all will turn out well overall.
what is it that you would like others to do for you?
Well do that to others first, dont wait around for it to happen to you
be generous and giving and the rewards of joy will return to you
and finally, you will only know what is truly fulfilling for you when you discover your purpose, and why you were put here on this planet.
Only your heavenly father can show you that.

I think all those feelings come from the sense that you are useful... productive... making a difference in someone's life. If you don't get acknowledged or appreciated in your job, consider volunteering. I, for one, feel most fulfilled when I am helping others. County agencies, senior services etc. are often looking for volunteer drivers; soup kitchens and food banks also need volunteers.
