Statistics: The ability to quantify uncertainty.
Biostatistics: The theory and techniques for describing, analyzing, and interpreting health data.
Measurement: The act or process of assigning numbers to phenomena according to a rule
Variable: The numerical outcome of an experiment (different variables for different experiments)
Data: The statistician's raw material - the numbers used to interpret reality.
Population: A "statistical population" is a set of entities concerning which statistical inferences are to be drawn, often based on a random sample taken from the "total possible group".
Sample: A smaller subset of the total population
Parametric: Characterized by having one or more variables, or parameters, which can be varied for different results or effects. Non-Parametric obviously cannot be characterized with variables.
Parameter: "A ""constant"" or numerical description of some property of a population (which may be real or imaginary).
Statistic: A quantity that is calculated from a sample of data. It is used to give information about unknown values in the corresponding population. For example, the average of the data in a sample is a statistic used to give information about the overall average in the population from which the sample was drawn.

With this much in hand, you should be more than able to finish your research on your own ...
