The case is an Acer Veriton 7100, I want to install a tualatin capable socket 370 motherboard.

Yes the motherboard will fit
Where I'm coming from is that I KNOW you can't put a standard board in a Dell or Compaq case. The power and front panel connectors aren't standard in those cases. I'm trying to find out if it's a similar situation with Acer or if they use standard connectors.

Acutally Dell standardized their connectors about 6 years ago, so that thing about not being compatible is becoming nothing more than an urban legend. To answer your questions, yes it will be compatible.

any motherboard can be installed in all cases, unless they specifically say so, casing generally have slots so that any motherboard can fit. make sure ure motherboard is secured

you'll have to download the manual for both mother boards and each one will tell you which pins are what, I know it's not much help but it's how I did it.
