Why would you give up piano?I've been playng guitar for well over 20 years and I've always been quite serious about it.I've played many other instruments in that time, but guitar was always my main focus.I admit as a former guitar teacher I wouls always recommend remaining focused on your instrument, but playin more than one my enhance your ability and creativity on your primary instrument.
You most certainly would regret leaving piano, but there is no need to do so at all.The only way not making a decision to play one over the other would be detrimental would be if it were your goal to reach absolute virtuosity on one.If you're doing it for the love of music there is no need to choose.

You should learn them both. I play piano, violin, and a little guitar. The more the merrier. You just spend equal time on both instruments, and if you like one better you can spend more time on it, but don't quit the other.
Musical instruments compliment each other in knowledge. What you learn from one, can be applied to the other. The more theory you learn on the piano, helps you understand the chords and how they are composed for the guitar.

Why in the world would you not play the piano anymore just because you're taking guitar lessons? A lot of people play more than one instrument, with one of them being the piano. Playing the piano assists you in playing the other instruments.

Piano-You can play almost all instrument you know. But piano is harder to travel with. Guitar-girls will probably like this. But you have to tune it almost every week or more. Its really your desition. Me i have guitar now, i cant tune my guitar even thought i have tuner. and the strings pops. I thought that piano is easy. Caz you just plug it in and play. I might try piano and sell my guitar. Or not. lol. so there are some stuff or clues lol. good luck!

If you have to choose, piano is the way to go. It is the root of all music and if you can play piano, you will learn any other instrument at least 2-3 times quicker than your average person.

you can learn two instruments at the same time, in the same manner that you learn more than two subjects in your class, i believe that being a music lover manifests in you that intense desire to know how to play both the guitar and piano, its just a matter of time that you will have to give on both and constant practice will make things perfect
