As mortal humans we do not have the right to decide the fate of another when it comes to life or death.

Capital punishment should be reserved for serious intentional crimes. Saddam could of used his powers for the good but he is evil in mind. He has no remorse for his actions and will become outraged and call the unfair card when he is put face to face for his crimes.
Thousands of people had their lives cut or scarred because this man headed a regime that brought submission through terror against his own people.
Death is really a favour for him because the wages of sin pays is death (Romans 6:23) so by death Saddam will have paid for his sins and be square with God (not saying he will get the gift of everlasting life)
Though this will provide little in the terms of a lesson to other despotic leaders in the world it will demonstrate that nobody is an untouchable and can be brought to justice.

i believe strongly that he should face the death penalty. he made life unbearable for so many people not only by killing close family and friends but by makuing them face harsh rules. i believe you to be a strong willed person to hold this view but i do believe there are acceptions. Adolf Hitler persecuted so many civilians and i believe that so has Saddam Hussein. None the less, i don't think you're wrong to hold this view, i think this because you might think he should bepunished but face what he has done wrong.

And i suppose George Bush has done less or more than Saddam?
The USA are occupying iraq, therefore they are a "vichy state" therefore subject to the Unitied nations and the United nations doesnt permit the death sentence !!!
So if that isnt sorted it becomes "unlawfull murder"
Furthermore people should do more research into the back ground of IRAQ and ask your self is it "OIL" or an alternative reason ? try a search for " Gilgamesh"

It would of been quicker to have shot him when they found him, because no doubt the British taxpayer will end up footing the legal bill like we do with the price of fuel etc.
However the sooner the Saddam affair is hung the sooner our troops can get out of another countries affairs, we toppled the tyrant now lets give the country back to its people and let them deal with their own affairs its not our place to police, or are we as a nation becoming like Saddam once was "Dictators?"

Why anti-capital punishment? It is as old as the scriptures. An eye for an eye. I agtee it should not be used lightky. But in this case? Saddam should be the poster boy for capital punishment.

Maniacal leader like Saddam Hussein has caused alot of pains to his nation. He's a murderer yes, but i personally do not believe that hanging is a fair punishment for him. God will judge him with what he has done. It is not rightful to kill him, just because he has killed many. It would be of no difference to him. I would favor life sentence for him.

Any human being with humanity would not like to end the life of another but in the case of Saddam , I'm afraid even the human race for its own survival has to draw the line somewhere and he definitely is the somewhere

as somedays my views change on capital punishment. I believe all countries should operate there justice system as they feel fit but sometimes there are more benefits to seek greater answers to many other crimes (as I see in this case, a life of punishment and persecution by constant trial sometimes is better) From my opionion this will not stabalize matters any. (but we shall never no since we really have nothing to compare it) May the Iraqi people recover one day and become a great nation.

You got it wrong. It was not Adolf Hitler we were interrogating for so long. It was Saddam Hussein. What happened to your views about capital punishment?
Anyway, George Bush is next on the list. Man, what are we coming to now..........
