Online degrees offered by respected, traditional universities generally do not notate that the degree was obtained online--you won't have to mention it, and the employer won't know the difference. However, online diploma mills that only offer education via the internet have never been respected by employers. Just hearing the name of the institution will make their eyes roll into the back of their heads.

Many actual universities hold classes on-line aside from regular classes, and these don't always show up when looking for on-line degrees. With those, no one would have to know whether you took classes on-line or in person.
