I've experience that too,in one month my menstruation is unstoppable..it was happened when I was 18 years old, and it made me so weak and worried..I thought it would be my last days in this earth..I remember I was crying and told to my mom that we should do something..because at the same time I had a fever and I feel that I'm dying..I checked a doctor and she told me that I should have an ultrasound first to see whats inside my ovaries...And then we found out that I have a Polycystic Ovaries, a condition where the eggs in the ovaries do not ovulate, making it stayed there in my ovaries as tiny cysts. The doctor told me that the cause of these Polycystic is the Hormonal Imbalance, where Estrogen is more than the Progesterone, making your eggs not to ovulate and having no menstruation (its true because I have an irregular menstruation since teens, almost five months i have no mens), but the other effects of it is the irregular bleeding, which happened to me also for the first time. To treat this bleeding my doctor gave me prescription- Mefenamic Acid (an iron capsule for your blood, because theres too much blood lost in your body) and a certain birth control pills - Gynera - but sadly the pills made my situation worse because my sight became blurred, I suffered skin allergies and often I felt dizzy. So we called the doctor and told me that the pill is not good for me, telling me to stop taking it. So we see another doctor, she told me that I should be get on operation, because of the cysts!! But my family is in doubt at third time we see another doctor, this time explaining all of what was really happening to me.She told me that we should find a pill that will match my physical conditions, a pill that will not give me side effects and could stop in time the bleeding.She said that my condition is not too serious as long as the bleeding would stop by the pill that she will give me, but she's also not sure for that we will have, a sort of trial and error type of medication. I said ok I will take the risk. Then she gave me Provera, a pill that I should intake in 10 days and after that we could see if the blood will stop (because Provera could stop the bleeding or make your menstrual period, it will correct your hormones to make it balance). Then the medication begins and gladly it made the bleeding stopped!!i'm very thankful because of that, and my good gynecologist doctor told me that I should take it monthly to regulate my menstruation and to avoid that bleeding again. I followed her and It made me good, but as of now because of its expensiveness I quit intaking Provera so here I am again having an irregular mens..(but I'm planning to take Provera again when I have the money, it is really important). As of today I never experience again that tragic bleeding, but the cysts is still there in my ovaries (its not cancerous, it has no cure, maybe when I get married and have sex with my husband and get pregnant maybe it will take away the cysts, hoping that I should get pregnant , haha!). I hope that sharing my experience with you could help you somehow, just check your doctor and have ultrasound (if you don't want to pass the device in your vagina, you can tell to the doctor to pass it in your anus) to see the condition of your ovaries.I hope that it will not that too serious. After knowing your condition you can research it in internet or in books, discover personally your illness. That's all! Take care.

It can be a number of things, so the smartest thing would be to go to doctor. Just to put your mind at ease, it doesn't have to be anything serious. In my case it's the pill. Once i take a break and then start using pill again there is no "break" between periods. I simply have it for 5 weeks. Later on, it's all ok.

I suffered the same thing myself, recently. I would recommend going to your doctor. In my case, I had a burst cyst that was bleeding - not a huge cause for alarm. But I really would get it checked out and abnormal bleeding can be symptomatic of a number of things.

Do you have depo provera injections or implanon? I was fine with depo jabs but implanon caused the same reaction that you have described. It lasted until I had the implanon removed. If this is not the case then sorry but I wouldn't have a clue, just go to your GP.

Definitely get a check up. Could be cancer....not to frighten you.
Just go get checked. Try to get s sense of how much blood is passing in a day, any foul smelling discharge or associated pain;
back, flank, abdominal.

you need to go to the doctor. This happened to me and when I finally went, the doctor said I had a miscarriage.(Libby B is right...I was anemic, and had to take prescribed iron, and it knots your stomach up.)

I'm sorry; that sucks. It happens pretty often. Go to the gyno- she'll test you for cancer and put you on birth control.

Definitely go to a doctor. You'll end up iron deficient, and that's no good..
