(1) if you ask a guy out for drinks and he says yes, but rather than making a "date" he says, just call me when your in town next(as we live in different towns), is he really interested? ..................
(2) I have met him a few times and we have kissed eachother. he does show all the signs that he likes me, but he still hasnt asked me out on a proper date. its still, give me a call when your next in town. i came out of a 6 year relationship 8 months ago, could he just be playing it cool because of this?he knows about my past relationship as i met this guy thru my ex. hes not a friend of my ex and i didnt split with my ex for this guy.
this guy has been chasing me for ages, even when i was with my ex.

he is being very cool, it sounds to me he likes the thrill of the chase, if i was you i would take a step back for now, which i know is difficult and try to think 'what will be will be' And you are probably still fragile after the end of your previous relationship so some 'you' time might be a good idea then you may be able to think a little clearer. Hope you get it all sorted out

You didn't say how far apart you live. If its going to involve driving for several hours to get together, hes prolly not interested in a long distance relationship. and if you met him thru the ex boyfriend, he might be a little shaky about that. Otherwise. From what you have here, I'd say he's interested. He just not interested in having to take a week of vacation to get to where you are.

Hey, Girl. This guy may well have been envious of your relationship with your X! Having pursued you during this relationship, he has undoubtedly played his game. Now that he has had the occasional outing with you, he dangles you on a string expecting you to chase him. He seems very egotistical and intent on a particular game plan. Don't let it happen, Assert yourself, try looking from the outside in, rather the inside out. You are the one who should be in control, you may have a lot to give. However don't let your gift be taken away.

he really likes u i think hes just not sure where ur at i guess he knows its a sure thing telling u to ring him cos then he cant ring u an get rejected, he also knows that if u didnt wanna catch up you wouldnt ring. if u really like him go ahead when your in town next say hey would it be cool if we just catch up this time say go to the movies or dinner or something see how he reacts. sometimes you cant just leave it u to the guy theyre all little sooks on the inside!

maybe he is just to shy to come straight out and ask you to make a big commitment, after all 8 months is not a long time to be out of a relationship is it?
next time you go to his town why not try staying in a hotel and inviting him over,that way it,s neutral ground for you both and he might spill all his plans to you.
do you want to be with this guy? ask yourself that maybe YOU have been giving the wrong signals,

I would give this guy another chance - call him when you are next in town - make sure you end this meeting though with a fixed date and time for when you will next meet - if you want to! Good luck.

sounds like he has some kind of attraction to you, hes either playing hard to get and wants you to chase him or he doesnt want to be too full on as he knows you have recently came out of a long term relationship

He's just playing it cool, chase him a bit and say "when are we going to go out on this date you keep promising me then?" that way he'll know your intentions and you'll know his if he makes a date.
