Firstly you need to understand that he probably doesn't write the column himself. At best he will see a copy before print. I stand to be corrected on that though because some celebs insist on writing their own pieces.
In terms of costs or his fee for putting his name to the column, I would guess from my own experiences he'd be getting a lump sum for a long-term deal, which probably runs into the thousands per column. Just a guess though, but based on experience.
