As in string like structures of energy in circle form that apparently would enable wormholes etc... and they spoke alot of dimensions etc.

I will recommend the book "The elegant universe" by Brian Greene. He is a researcher in the field and however has a very clear and easy to follow way of explaining very complicated issues. String Theory is still a theory and don't take it all for something real.
