I think we all share fundamental emotions...excitement, grief, anxiety, infatuation, love, etc, etc. How we respond to any given situation would be shaped more by past experiences and environmental influences. We all have a unique blue-print in this regard-no two people's journey is exactly the same.

Cultural influences may have an effect on how a person reacts to a situation so I think that suggest that emotions may also be affected.

Same reach/scope/capability of emotions, different way of using/allowing them.
