Here are a few ideas. By hanging. By shooting. Suicide. "Assisted" suicide. Assassination. Old age.I would have said assisted suicide, but too many people have cottoned on to that, so I now think he will hang.

He has been sentenced to hang.

The appeal process is happening today, but it is a foregone conclusion, he will still hang, inside thirty days.

I personally am opposed to hanging and do not believe in and eye for an eye mentality.

As a Christian, I am totally opposed to judging another and to executing them, since it simply makes the executioner, just as bad as the person being punished... and two wrongs do not make a right.

In Saddam's case, I believe punishment should be entirely decided by the people he abused. Supposedly, he is being tried by them, yet, I'm not so sure that they have had a free hand at this trial, since many aspects of the case, relied on western law and pressure, from the USA. So it was biased from the start.

What he has done is extremely evil yes, but he is not, and was not, a threat to us in the west, nor was he a threat to any other nation, not since his power had been neutered many years ago. He was not behind the twin towers act of violence, but others who the west cohorts with, the west provides weapons to, the west does dirty deals with, for their oil and commodities, were.

He had no weapons capable of harming anyone, except his own. He is used merely as a scapegoat, by Bush and Blair, to prop up their own angst against the world they cannot tame... to push their own agenda, sadly, in the name of Christianity... as zealots.

Their personal belief system bears no resemblance at all to Christ's teachings... it disgraces Christians everywhere... and is used by these two men as a parcel, for wrapping up old scores to be settled from the past, scores that Bush senior didn't finish... an agenda for looking good in a conservative dad's eyes, for Blair... since he's already almost turned his party blue.

They both broke every rule in the book by going after Saddam. They disgraced us all and made the UN totally impotent in the world view... never again respected by the man in the street, since, what's their use to any of us now, now we know they stood by and let the US and the UK (my land) get away with serious invasion against a neutered country, and serious crimes ever since... against a nation, who'd already suffered all their lives, under this evil dictator, that we are about to hang.

His punishment by death, could create more serious problems for us all, as if we haven't created enough by our actions... and if we expect others to ever understand democracy, murdering their people and their deposed leader, years after the event, isn't really the sensible way to start your case for persuasion...

Saddam instigated serious crimes against his people, he should have been handed over to them all immediately he was deposed and at that same point in time, we should have gotten right back out and let them sort it... then.

no edit, no time.

I do not think Saddam's death is imminent. First, there may other causes that he has to be judged for. Second, we are all scared of the reactions of the Muslim world that will enroll more and more young people on their "crusades". Third, Iraq is becoming a no-no land: his death will be an excuse for his defenders to become even bloodier.
I do I think? For the first time, I d o not know!!! But worried!

He is to be executed by hanging.

From cnn.com:

Hussein was sentenced to hang for the 1982 crackdown in the Shiite town of Dujail. His half brother and former intelligence chief Barzan Hassan and former chief judge of the Revolutionary Court Awad Bandar also were sentenced to death.

He is sentenced to death by hanging but he will appeal on the grounds of unfair trial so we will have a long wait to find out the final verdict.

he and his brother have both been sentanced to death in the form of hanging, though whatis extremely shocking is that they had 7 days to appeal against this decision! What bothers me is that other countries still give a death penalty for certain horrific crimes, yet the only thing that the uk give it for these days is treason ( please correct me if im wrong, but that is what im lead to believe) where-as there have been certain crimes/cases that have, I feel (and i think im right in saying many others would agree) warranted this penalty in this country. he's been sentenced to hang, so i guess that's probably the most likely way that he'll die, although suicide is always a possiblity. also, i think he'll appeal against his death sentence, so if he wins his appeal, then he won't hang, but if he loses the appeal (i can't see him winning), then he'll hang 30 days afer the appeal was lost.

He will hang. The people that he tortured and killed their family will rejoice, the moral majority will be delighted and celebrate but forget that it was the West that supported him for so long whilst he was doing these evil things.

It will be death by hanging but I think he should be torchured first, the same way he torchured all of his innocent victims before killing them.
