"la raza" literally means "the race". in this case, the mexican-american race. not mexican per se, but mexican-american or chicano. however, it is not used in the literal way, but in the brotherhood/ family way. "viva" means "long live" or "long life", therefore, "viva la raza" means "long live the race",( the mexican american/ brotherhood race) but believe me, there is no racism or segregation involved of any kind when used by eddie or the guerreros.
