Using a pen/thumb drive is the most efficient way. They some in different capacities. You should get the one with the largest capacity if you plan to move huge files.

Note: This suggestion is for data files only. You can never move O/S or system files or even programs.

there are several ways to do:

-use cross UTP cable (required 2 LAN card)
-use sharing folder/FTP (if both computer connected to the LAN)
-use mobile rack for win 98 harddrive to act as external harddrive(install the win98 harddrive as a slave to computer with xp)
-use infra red/bluetooth transfer (if both of computer have infra red/bluetooth capability)
-use USB flashdisk/ZIP drive with gigabytes capacity

load them on a zip drive that uses a usb port and place them for computer to computer or just use them from the zip drive and remove them from your computer to save space.
