Good job, getting a triband. I bought a phone on a trip to the Philippines a few months ago and only got a dual band. Useless in North America.

Cingular and T-Mobile are the GSM carriers in the US and you can use your phone w/ them. Verizon Wireless and Sprint are CDMA carriers, so your Nokia will not work w/ them.

Im also US and to the Phils. often. I bought one phone just for use in the Phils. and my US phone. To get aplan to use the same phone in both countries was unreal ( 2 years ago). I use Nokia in the Phils, Im not sure but I know my phone will use Smart, Globe or whatever sim card and load I buy. I would say buy the phone in the Phils. you will get a way better deal, and theyre all made in the same place anyway1

you can only use tri band cell phone with cingular cause of the sim card cause verizon does not accept sim card. just go to cingular and they will help you.
