I think thats what you usually hear when someone you are dealing with has access to your personal information or identity while conducting business with them or making some sort of a formalized complaint behind closed doors etc.
anonymity in this phrase is meaning 'your unidentifiability'.
an anonymous letter or phone call may have no return address for example. a catholic conducting confession to a priest is protected by anonymity.

It means somebody is asking you to put your ar5e on the line - so be damned sure they can deliver when they say this - it means your identity will be kept totally secret.

If there is a reason for somebody to tell you this, it usually means you will be put in a situation where having your identity revealed would be very bad for you - like being a victim of a drive by, etc.

hello, anonymity means to protect your identitity, for example if you were a whitness at a court case & you did not want to reveal your name/address in front of the public/defendant or anyone then the courts would be able to protect your identity & your details and will not disclose them to any one else without your permission. hope this helps X

Normally it means i will keep your personal details confidential - the exact meaning of the term needs to be clarified because the small print varies.

For instance it would not normally cover your identity if there is a reasonable risk that you are intending to harm another specific person or your self, that you are a child who is being sexually abused or if you have indiciated or given suspiciion that you arei nvolved in terrorist activities.

It means that somebody is trying to swindle your anonymity from you by saying that he's protecting it. It's the doubletalk form of deceit.

What you can gauge from this situation is pretty bad news, I'm afraid.

Somebody is hunting you, darling.

It means that the person saying it will not reveal you as the source of the information.
Of course the courts could get it out of them if necessary, or simple business pressure could be applied. There is no contract between the two of you so you couldn't sue them.

It means that person won't tell anyone who you are or that there is any relationship between you. You would be anonymous (nameless) to everyone but that person.
