Not anymoe than a non pregnant person should...

Being a mother of 3 children I can honestly say I was in very close contact with alot of flu, colds, fevers, while pregnant with my younger two because I was caring for the older child children when pregnant.. Neither of the younger two had any problems because of it..

You may want to avoid people with colds/ flu etc. because it's uncomfortable X 10 for you to have these ailments when pregnant...

It depends on what stage of pregnancy you are in. The first trimester is alwasy the tricky part and you'd be extra miserable if you came down with something as taking anything is out of the question.
If the child is older than 20 weeks though you don't need to worry as much but it is still no fun being pregnanat and sick.

I tended to steer clear of anybody that even had a slight sniffle. I didn't do this because I thought it would harm the baby, but because when you are pregnant, the strongest thing that you can take is paracetamol. So i just stayed away for my own benefit really.

yes as much as possible pregnant women have lower immunites..to avoid rejecting the baby...so it seems like they can catch alot..if you are worried about colds or flus however talk to your doc about a flu shot..they arent that expensive and some insurence plans cover it..

Better to be safe than sorry, although it's not always possible to avoid illness while pregnant, and unless it's something like the measles, it won't hurt your baby.

Yes. Your baby would be fine from infection, but there's precious little meds you can take to help you feel better if you catch that fever!

considering a fever is that your body is fighting off something, I would say its best to be safe then sorry !!
