Feel bad? No, I don't feel bad when people I don't know and have never met hate me. I didn't vote for Bush and I don't like him very much, but most of what people abroad think about Americans is completely unfounded and untrue. I've lived in three different countries in the past four years and everywhere it's always the same story propagated by whoever gives the people their information. I just don't listen anymore, nobody would.
As for helping third world countries, we give as much, if not more aid than other Western countries. Nationalized healthcare is not something most Americans want (we are not a socialist nation). As far as "weapons and stuff", I don't think you need me to tell you that 9/11 changed the world. American leaders are now taking big steps to ensure that will never happen again. There is only one sure way to fight someone shooting a gun at you- shoot them first. Primitive- yes, but then we've still a long way to go towards civilization, don't we?

I'm an American who has lived in Europe for over 20 years..
I am anti Bush like millions of Americans are !!! A great thing
about America ,unlike Europe , is that it remains an open window...
I and I'm sure thousands of other non Europeans living in Europe
can never truly call it home as Europe has a big immigration
problem that even children that are born in certain European
countries to foreign parents are called foreigners among their
white Neighbors..There fact is there are many racist political
fractions that sit on European Parliament's,so I understand why Europeans use the word hate !!(I don´t know what nationality you are)
Refrain from the word hate,in fact hate only hate ,and don't judge a nation or its People because of one man!

Until the World Wars the U.S. was never liked by most nations, only tolerated and flirted with by nations working against another nation. America did not get where it is by caring what the rest of the world thinks. America exist because its founders wanted to get as far away from Europe and the rest of the worlds as possible.
I feel bad, however, when some have such a weak grasp on our political system that they single out Bush as a King that did everything on his own. Almost of all that Bush has done, has been done with the authority of Congress and when appropriate the Courts. If you have a problem with that or can not see the spin of the liberal media, then I feel sad for you. You need to go back and study your history and our other Presidents during war time and the sentiments of the people of the time and you will find that Bush comes out smelling like a rose in comparison. And study all our other wars and this on on Iraq is the least costly in the terms of life of any war in our history comparably. Example less than 4000 casualties in Iraq, more than 400,000 thousand in World War II and almost 750,000 in the civil war.
Wake up!!!! Until you learn more about the state of affairs and stop rehashing the liberal spin doctors it may be advisable for you to keep your ideas to yourself unless you want to continue to remove all doubt as to your lack of credibility.

The engine of American foreign policy has typically been fueled not by a devotion to any kind of morality, nor even simple decency, but rather by the necessity to serve other masters, which can be broken down to three imperatives:
1) the care and feeding of American corporations: making the world open and hospitable for neo-liberal globalization; enhancing the financial statements of defense contractors who have contributed generously to members of Congress and residents of the White House;
2) preventing the rise of any society that might serve as a successful example of an alternative to the capitalist
model;
3) expanding the empire: establishing political, economic and military hegemony over as much of the globe as possible to facilitate the first two imperatives, and to prevent the ascendancy of any regional power that might challenge American supremacy.
The US politicians does not care what the rest of the world thinks about the country or its people.

I would never hate a person based on my feelings towards the leader of that person's country. That is very narrow-minded.
I did not vote for him in either election (yes I voted). I don't like much of what Bush has done/is doing. I am doing what I can, as an American to change what I don't like...I'm voting and letting my elected officials know my opinions. Of course I would rather have my tax dollars spent to better the lives of Americans and assist 3rd world countries.

I don't think it is any of your business who we elect.Yes I like him.I would though defend any elected president of my nation.
Why don't you concern yourself with your own countries leader.
The U.S.DOES use its power and wealth(we give more money than any other country) to help not only third world countries but also second and first world ones as well.Canada enjoys the protection of being a border nation to the U.S. with out any standing up to protect them selves because the U.S. would consider any attack on them an attack on them selves.It is a shame Canada would not do the same.

You listen to the media- that is your first problem.....if you think everything the media reports is fact, well you need someone to set you strait......I live and work in Baghdad, I am American, and I am a witness to change on a daily basis.
This country will most defiantly benefit from the United States and George Bush. All the doors have been opened for Democracy, all the Iraqi people need is a Government to guide their way.........which is in the works as we speak...Bush will go down in history as the president who changed the world for the better.....so if you choose to believe the crap the media reports (remember, the media gains viewers as tension rises) then do so....but don't spread your ignorance to the rest of the world.....

It's more complicated than that! the wealthy be them Saudi Arabian or American or otherwise run the show from the backseat out of the public eye . They don't care what country is hurt as long as they maintain and gain more money ... Ignorance is rapacity and knowledge based in ignorance is power.

The Bush regime I and II are far past lacking legitimacy. They are literally bankrupting America for their own personal oil greed. If that is not what is going on, then explain all those lies at the UN to justify this war. Not one person I know can explain why we Americans kill Iraqis every day in war. And Bush just decided to give MORE money, many millions more dollars, to the Dept. of Homeland Security, based on Bush’s killings in the Katrina response. Yet, he is reducing local first responder funding at the same time. Bush is now threatening to reduce other poverty programs in America to pay for the Katrina disaster. Yeah, you wouldn’t want Congress to forego a raise, or to stop our illegal war in Iraq to help feed poor Americans.
