emo is a term derived from emo(emotional music) in which the singer speaks of pain, self-hate, self destruction, low self-esteem and other deep experiences. emo music resembles punk with EMOTIONAL themes stated above that often tell a sad story.emo music listeners often relate to songs with those themes and some behave that way too. emo is also a term to describe over emotional behavior being displayed. emo fashion --chucks, vintage t shirts, corduroy pants, thick dark rimmed glasses and piercings...can't generalize this because not all people who are described above are emo and not all emo people act the way stated above. people do say emo is "gay" because the way they express themselves is different.

What people classify emo as today is a person that dresses in black, cuts them selves, has a lot of piercings. But the truthful meaning of an emo is someone that goes against the government.

at my skool (girls skool in aus) if ur an emo it means the same as a gothic but u cut urself er yer

its a group of ppl who r heaps emotional & stupid... they think everyone else is stupid coz we dont spend our time crying about how da world is bout to end & there's no love nemore &crap lik that. stupid emos... they're usally v v sweet ppl tho
