According to a Senior British policemen interviewed on Radio 4 last week, they have asked Parliament to pass laws to make it illegal for men to cover their faces at any time in a public place. Yet he stated that Senior policemen supported the right for women to cover their faces in public.

Is this a case of Sexual Discrimination or Political / Religious Correctness?

Part of his argument is that it makes it difficult to identify people in case the police need to arrest them.

As the majority of men do not commit crimes, should the majority of men pay for the actions of a minority?

If a fashion was started for men to wear veils, should those who wear them be incarcerated for following fashion?

What do the 'public' think? I want to know!

If people want to cover thier faces, they can, if they don't, they don't have to. It's their face!!! If it makes it difficult for the police to identify people and arrest them, then they can nicely ask the men to remove the facial covering for them. But what police officer is gonna know the face of a criminal from memory or picture? In the world where plastic surgery is possible how does the face even give a clue to who a person might be? The real clue is DNA, so go with the fingerprints!!
I always thougt that just because a few people from a group did something, it did not mean that the rest did it too. That's called being prejudiced. Being American [and i'm not saying that Americans are the only ones that believe this] I believe that you are innocent until proven guilty.

Yes, people should have the right to cover there faces in pubic if they want too, but... A face is a symbol of identy in the western world, if one can not see there faces then people have a hard time to idenify with them. If one can't idenify with someone they well find it hard to trust the other people. In in general yes they should have the right, but they would also beware and that be doing so only brings trouble on them.

No I think not, unless under attack by chemicals like wearing gas mask. Those who disguise themselves, have something to hide. It is deceptive and rude.

No, no one should be required to show their faces in public. Uncriminal behaviour should not be criminalized.
