A few years ago I created a political bumper sticker about how "true Republicans" vote (I won't link to it here to avoid claims that I'm advertising, but it's easy to find via Google if you're interested), and the concept was that true Republicans wouldn't actually vote Republican because of what their party now represents. That was long before the string of scandals that has bruised the party lately (not to mention the increasingly-awful situation in Iraq).
So what is the worst embarrassment facing Republicans now? I would almost be tempted to say that it's the incredible name-calling and gross illogic of their campaign diatribes, which show their inability to actually admit to and address problems. But there are many other sources of embarrassment for them these days. Which do you think is the worst of all, the coup de grace, the straw that breaks the camel's back?

Randy C, if you pulled your head out of the sand, you'd see that mainstream America has pretty much given up on Bush in particular and the Republicans in general. You can deny reality all you want, but know that others will judge you by it. (By the way, I'm not a Democrat -- or should I say RepubliCrat -- at all.)

The absolute ruining of the world wide view of America. Bush has single handedly made our friends around the world see us as redneck fools. Ney, Delay, stealing the 2000 election are all bad, but the damage done to our national image will last for a very long time. Really, the man is a dolt.

The democrats have some potentiall maximum suitable applicants which persons might see if the media might basically end focusing on Obama Hillary and Edwards. Chris Dodd and Joe Biden have some great techniques, and Mr. Biden has journey to boot to boot. i wouldn't in any respect vote for a POW candidate. i'm sorry in spite of the undeniable fact that the psychological undertaking concerns are basically too plenty. i'm effective McCain became into an staggering soldier, yet his temper and physique of ideas have not everywhere indoors the white abode. i might additionally on no account vote for all people who has made a great difficulty of their faith indoors the advertising campaign as Romney and Huckabee have accomplished. I had sufficient of that for the previous 7 years. Guiliani isn't something yet a republican version of bill Clinton along with his philandering techniques, and if people concept Clinton might have been impeached yet vote for for Guliani, then they're the biggest hypocrites.

The Republican Party are defenders of privilege and wealth. They shout about patriotism and the individuals duty to the State. Any children of major figures in the Republican Party in Iraq? If the answer is 'No' this makes them hypocrites.
More, much more which makes them suspicious and unworthy of office.
Good luck from Europe! Kick out the Republicans.

Bush is their worst embarrassment. Over 50% of Americans no longer believe the Iraqi war is justified. The republican senators are afraid of backlash on voting day & aren't backing Bush's inititives any more. The republicans running for major offices don't want him on the campaign trail.
In other words, Bush is bad news & an embarrassment to the Republic party.

I really like your question, its funny because its true though. I'm really not interested in politics, although I hate Bush (and I can understand different people's beliefs that he has too much power, after all his own advisor says that Bush can torture children (see my sources) or that he was behind the terror attacks (again, see my sources) but im not sure I fully believe all this) so I think that either way, its the 9/11 fiasco, because even if Bush didn't cause the attacks, I'm pretty sure he at least knew it was going to happen (maybe not even the exact date, but he probably knew).

Wow, what planet do you come from? Certainly not a mainstream American. Is that you Nancy Palosi? I see you haven't come out from hiding during this election season.
Ignorance is bliss. Bush is a leader at a time when we need one. Not like a liberal whom wets his finger to catch wind of the latest poll. History will reveal him to be a great leader and you all will sit and cross your legs and arms and just stew.

The current Republican party may not be perfect, but look at the alternative.
I don't want my friends & family killed by terrosist attacks.
I don't want the Islamic Extremists emboldened by our lack of resolve.
I don't want my taxes raised, Charlie Rangle has promised to raise them.
I'll be voting Republican.
