I replaced Norton with AVG a few months ago and all my computers run much faster and without lots of glitches. I would pay for it if I had to, but I understand that won't be necessary.

There will still be a free version of AVG; just switch to version 7.5 or try Avast.

If I can't get the new version for free then yes I would buy. I find it much less obtrusive than Norton

Unlikely. I'll probably just disable any net connections apart from Steam under windows.
Or have a go at migrating my games to Linux.

Yes, I*ve been using it for several weeks and am very pleased with it. I didn't know they were discontimuing it. I won't buy it though - I'll just look for another free one.
