I do not know why many things are frowned upon.

Hm, so the irony in many people who think nudity is just porn...People tell me they hate my tattoos and dyed hair, because they are not natural.
But they also dissapprove of nudity, but that is natural?

The human body is a work of art and a beautiful thing(especially the form, shapes, contours, and curves of a woman's body). I do not know why the human form is frowned upon in all of its glory. Yes, a lot of it is the way it is exploited, but it is frowned upon, even when it's nothing that should be anything negative. Yes,I can see how many disapprove of the explitness and grotesque explotation of the human form, but that is not ALL that is nudity. There is beauty in paintings, in sculpture, in photograph and cinema, in the heart, in the mind. There is beauty in the intimacy and love in the bedroom where nudity generally takes place, and the nudist colonies where bodies and forms can freely be expressed. There is beauty of pregnancy when the body adapts to a new life, and the curve shows how much the life has grown, showing the bond the two are sharing. There is beauty in it aswell...

The human body is beautiful and an amazing thing, and I think we should embrace it and be proud of it, and not be shocked or disgusted when it is shown off in works or art...or at all. It is sickening how we are molded to be ashamed of our bodies..

That could be a very hard subject, and no, this is not a good place to research... unless it is a sort of opinion based-poll type of research that you are doing..

First, it is in part a question of culture.
There are cultures that try to restrict nudity for a religious and other social reason. There is also a connection between (real or perceived) between nudity and sexually free behavior. By most definitions loose sexual behavior is considered a sign of the devil. This equates to control. There were few ways that society was able to control this kind of behavior, so the behavior was made 'bad' as a form of control.

Additionally, most western cultures idealize a body type that is, at best, hard to achieve. Those who are either too thin or too large are ‘discouraged’ to display themselves (i.e.: at the beach). We tend to forget that the issue is health and not size. I would prefer to carry 10-20% of additional weight and be in cardiovascular condition that to meet a target weight and be out of shape. We tend to societally force people to adhere to this standard. So if we, due to religious, social and self image reasons feel uncomfortable with nudity, we want others to also feel the same. This validates our thinking and makes us feel more secure.

Finally there is no hiding when you are naked. People to some extent hide behind the uniform of work, their recreation or activity. We are exposed (pardon the pun) when we are naked. At one level, I am only what I seem to be, not a policeman, doctor, executive.... just me.

Good luck and don't let oddball comments distract you.

If your research paper is about nudity and your in High School then yes it is frown upon, I don't know about college. Choose a different topic like what is frowned upon at school for example. That will probably make your school and teacher quite disappointed and angry. They hate it when students challenge them. Or how about this what the sex education needs to be better to better educate students? Choose a topic that you feel you can do and be comfortable about writing it. Good luck on your research paper.

whatever I've never frowned at the sight of a nude. Often
smiled but never frowned. So I would guess it's a moral quagmire
of hypocrisy and ignorance . research the tribes of some exotic
venues not bound or proscribed by the ideologies of a narrow minded few upon the masses of obedient sheep .and then you can discuss your comparisons in full with balance , rather than starting w/ a one sided bias.

Nudity arouses sexual emotions in most people, male of female. Males in particular get very aggressive when sexually aroused. Public nudity is frowned on in all modern societies, though still practiced in some very remote primitive cultures.

For the really fat and ugly, nudity can also evoke feelings of revulsion (Most people look better clothed than naked)

people feel that it is a sin to be naked. Some do not want there children to be exposed to it. people were always tought that it was bad. Some people may feel that it will bring sex to the minds of children more even though they think abou it anyway some may feel it will bring on the thought sooner. . Well it did start with adam and eve They sinned so to hide from God they Clothed themselves bc they felt samefull all of sudden so they tried to hide and clothed themselves bc the noticed that they were naked. There is some ideas to throw around

I don't frown upon it.
I used to live in a nudist colony-very freeing.
Having to wear clothes, especially on hot days, is annoying.
To answer your question, however, this is a highly repressed society that turns something as natural and basic as nudity into a sexual thing. I think women running around semi-clad, as they do, is much more arousing. Being naked is just being unencumbered.

Because people equate it with sex, then to the bible. People have lots of issues. There is nothing wrong with nudity. Weren't Adam and Eve naked?

I feel it is linked back to the bible. We are visual people and we were made to be attracked to each other. We aren't to lust after another person and it is hard not too. The more skin we see, the more we are attracked.
